GEOLOGIC HISTORY OF CAPE COD, MASSACHUSETTS

The rocks are remnants of the last ice age, which ended about 24,000 years ago. The rocks were left behind as the ice sheet retreated and the climate warmed.

Explanation

The Laurentide Ice Sheet covered the northern third of North America.

As the ice sheet retreated, it gouged out areas that are now Nauset Inlet and Town Cove.

The ice sheet dropped giant boulders and cobble rocks as it retreated.

The landscape of Cape Cod has been shaped by wind, waves, and streams since the glaciers retreated.

We use the following product to shine the rocks:

Is Rustoleum spray paint non-toxic?

Rust-Oleum® paints are unleaded and safe for use on toys and furniture. Once the paint is fully cured, the solvents have evaporated and are no longer in the coating, making it non-hazardous.

You may order yours without spray if you wish…

The eyes are added with Elmers Washable Clear Glue to bring out the character of each pet. We glue them on, so they come ready to see their new world.

Our Rocks are chosen especially for you so to honor your rock's journey, exchanges and returns are not possible. However, if you really are not able to care for the rock, we will gladly help re-home him.

You will know it is a Cape Cod Pet Rock because it is discreetly stamped with a pinky tip size emblem "CC".

Your pet comes with a shined rock, approximately 1-4 inches. It has eyes on one side and a tiny "CC" stamp.  We also include sand so it feels at home and a certificate to write your adoption date.

The Rocks are not toys or intended for children under 3 years of age.  -*Warning* - This is a choking hazard.
